[edit] Fair-use rationale for The Leys School (and St Faith's School, etc.)

The image linked here is claimed to be used under fair use because:

  1. It illustrates the identity of the schools and foundation that the logo represents.
  2. The image is used as the primary means of visual identification of the article topic, for the previous reason, and in keeping with many other UK schools on Wikipedia.
  3. It is one of many renderings of the logo, and so does not jeopardise ownership of the mark.
  4. It is a low resolution compressed image, and thus not suitable for production of counterfeit goods. This version is not used on stationery.
  5. The logo is not used in such a way that a reader would be confused into believing that the article is written or authorized by the owner of the logo.

I'll also add that the school is proud of its crest, so might grant permission, but this was apparently not sought. If a version can be released, please remove this image and replace it with the free one.
