- For the vocabulary term, see Lexicon.
Lexion is the name of a Combine harvester produced by Claas Omaha Inc. in the U.S. and CLAAS/Germany (see Claas Group KGaA).
[edit] History
The facility opened in 2001 as a joint venture with Caterpillar Inc. and the combines were originally marketed as Caterpillar combines, with Lexion as the model. The company continues to grow through the support of a dedicated manufacturing and engineering team that continuously develops new technology for the requirements of the North American market.
The North American LEXION combines are distributed and serviced by Caterpillar Dealers.
The LEXION brand is well-recognized for being among the world's largest and most reliable combines, being showcased on television shows such as Modern Marvels.
[edit] Confusion
It can be confusing as Lexion combines were formerly partly owned by Caterpillar, and they used Cat engines. The Challenger brand of combines by AGCO use the same color-schemes, and Cat engines. The Challenger brand is used under license from Caterpillar as AGCO bought the tractor business from them. Two very different combines, similar colors and roots.
