Lex Medlin

Lex Medlin (born March 30, 1969) is an American comedic actor who has appeared in a wide variety of television commercials and sitcoms. A star of the 2006 Fox TV sitcom Happy Hour. He is noted for his droll facial expressions and anything-for-a-laugh physicality.

Attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Pasadena, California, USA (1990 - 1991).

Medlin and his wife appeared together on an episode of the Food Network show "Party Starters" in 2003, in which their ranch house in the San Fernando Valley was transformed in tropical style for a housewarming.

Has one child from a previous relationship.

Medlin began his career doing local and Spanish-market ads for which he achieved some acclaim.

  • Dockers with Stain Defender. Role: Man who falls into food fight with friend at diner to test (or have fun with) Stain Defender clothing. Ad circa 2002/2003.
  • Gardetto's. Role: Californian suburban man who uses backhoe to dig hole for a small plant, because Gardetto's eaters really know how to live. Ad circa January/February, 2002.
  • Gateway Computers. Role: Small role as waiter who serves spokesman who speaks to a cow. Ad circa January/February, 2002.
  • Geico Direct. Role: A man cheating the phone company on collect calls by using the fake name "Bob Wehadababyit'saboy." Ad circa 2000/2001.
  • Kia Spectra. Role: Silly man who seems to be enjoying fabulous wind-blown drive in his sports car, until we find that he's actually in a car on the back of a big rig. The trucker, who seems to like him a bit too much, forces him to ride in the truck's cab. Ad circa 2001.
  • Loctite PowerGrab. Role: Annoyed man, woken up, demonstrates to home-renovator neighbor that hammers and nails are not necessary when you have this glue--glues hammer to ceiling. Ad circa 2005/2006.
  • Selsun Blue. Role: A man about to enjoying a picnic with his girlfriend, until flicking dandruff off his shoulders sends the wrong signal to a roaming bull. The picnic is cut short. Ad circa 2000/2001.
  • SkyTel. Role: In ad, "Cellular Outrage," that won the EFFIE award, plays man gabbing on the phone at the opera--until a diva sends a spear flying into his phone. Ad circa 2000/2001.
  • T-Mobile. Role: Man who tries to talk with family members really fast on phone until Catherine Zeta-Jones demonstrates that you get more minutes with T-Mobile. Ad circa 2005/2006.
  • Twix. Role: Ref whose Twix eating wreaks havoc on his calls. Ad circa 2006.
