[edit] Recognition During Lifetime
It is not correct to suggest that A Scots Quair was unrecognised as a major work during Mitchell's lifetime. The majority of critics across the country (and the London press especially) were very positive about Sunset Song in particular. The only dissenting voices, ironically, came from the local press in Aberdeenshire and Kincardineshire. This from Mitchell's biography by Iain S. Munro.--Stevouk 22:44, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
