[edit] Raid slogan

I would never hold myself up as an expert on Lew Welch, but I have never heard of him being the one who came up with the Raid ad slogan. Is there any reference for this whatsoever? The fact tag has been there for two months now, and I see no indication that this has been proven. I went ahead and deleted the 2nd reference to it, since that was unnecessary whether it's true or not. A quick Google search comes up with a number of hits, but everyone of them is a duplicate of this article, so that is no help. If a citation is not offered soon, I am going to delete all mention of it. ---Charles 04:11, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

There is a citation for this in Magda Cregg's tribute to Welch, Hey Lew (see http://www.heylew.com/book.html). Huey Lewis is quoted therein affirming this; however, is such a citation sufficient given that Cregg was Welch's girlfriend and Lewis, essentially, his stepson? I see little reason to doubt their veracity in this matter, however. Mertseger (talk) 00:06, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
