Lewistown Air Force Station

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lewistown Air Force Station was a US Air Force early warning radar base located in the Judith Mountains, in Fergus County, Montana. The facility, in operation from February 1960 to June 1971, consisted of a radar dome located atop Judith Mountain and a housing/cantonment area located about two miles west of the ghost town of Maiden. The station was manned by the 694th Radar Squadron.

After the facility's closure, the housing/cantonment area was used for a time as the campus of the now-defunct Big Sky Bible College. The Air Force equipment atop Judith Mountain has been removed.
