Lewis Lloyd

Lewis Kevin Lloyd (born February 22, 1959 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is a retired American basketball player.

A 6'6" guard/forward from Drake University, Lloyd played seven seasons (1981-1986; 1989-1990) in the NBA as a member of the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, and Philadelphia 76ers.[1] In 1986, he tested positive for cocaine, incurring a two and a half year suspension from the NBA.[2] He averaged 13.2 points and 3.1 rebounds per game in his career.[1]

Lloyd played his high school basketball at Overbrook High School in Philadelphia, the same high school as Wilt Chamberlain. After high school, he played at New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, New Mexico before finishing his career at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. As a junior at Drake, Lloyd ranked 2nd in the country in both scoring and rebounding, with 30.2 ppg and 15.0 rpg.
