Lewis Andreas

Lewis Andreas (died June 19, 1983) was the head coach of the Syracuse University men's basketball team from 1924 to 1950. He is the second most-winning coach in the history of the Syracuse program, compiling a record of 355 wins and 134 loses. His led the 1925-1926 team, along with star player Vic Hanson, to a 19-1 season, and was selected as that year's Helms Foundation Champion, college basketball's highest honor at the time. Andreas led Stanford to its first National Invitational Tournament appearances in 1945 and 1949. He retired from the program after the 1949-1950 season
