Leverhulme Trust
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Leverhulme Trust is a research and educational charity based in London, England.
Founded in 1925 after the death of the Victorian entrepreneur William Hesketh Lever to continue his philanthropic work, the Trust was originally endowed with a shareholding in Lever Brothers, which subsequently became part of Unilever. It still derives its income from Unilever shares, and the Trustees are drawn from the upper management levels of the company. It funds a wide variety of educational and research projects.
In recent years, the Trust has supported the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures.
