[edit] Martial law (us band)

This was a non-notable band as per the criteria set out in WP:Music. Perhaps Myspace would be a better location for this information. (aeropagitica) 17:16, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:MARTIALLAWFRONT.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:MARTIALLAWFRONT.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:07, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Martial law (us band)

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Martial law (us band), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Martial law (us band). If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit] why this should not be deleted

It has been suggested that this article be deleted because it does not meet the inclusion standards of wikipedia.

This article should not be deleted for the following reasons: Martial Law was one of the bands chosen to play in one of CBGB's final concerts, a very specific choosing method done by the associates at CBGB's. The "very small label", Welfare Records, that Martial Law was signed to is actually much larger. In the punk community, it is a large label considering that they do not follow a mainstream course of action. Martial Law is one of the few bands that was never sent on a tour managed by Welfare Records, although they did play far from home, in Long Island, New Hampshire, and NYC. Welfare Records also releases materials and videos by bands from all over New England and the New York area, and even some from outside this area. Martial Law had a very unique sound in the punk scene when they were playing and many acknowledged this, which is why they experienced so much success. Martial Law's self-released albums were by choice. They were offered the chance to release these albums on a real label, but chose not to so that they could have complete control over their productions. It was not until Welfare Records discovered them that they worked together with a label.

If these reasons are not worthy, I will give you more.

A very large amount of wikipedia users have been satisfied by this article, which meets the continuous demands for a tribute to the band they always loved.

You can discuss this at the AfD page, but you are not allowed to remove the notice indicating that the article is up for deletion from the article page, this is considered vandalism (see WP:VAND). Thank you. Fram 21:52, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
