From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Letham St Mark's Church is a Congregation in Perth, Scotland, and is part of the Church of Scotland. Letham Kirk was the original name of the congregation and came into being in 1954. The Church was planted in the middle of a post war housing scheme to further the Christian witness in a fast growing area of Scotland. In 1977 Letham Kirk joined with St. Mark's to form Letham St. Mark's. The present minister is Rev. James C. Stewart a graduate of Glasgow University. Letham St. Mark's was at the heart of a major evangelistic outreach to Perth in 1999. "Festival '99" was held in McDiarmid Park (home of St. Johnstone F.C.) and over four evenings 30,000 people came to hear Rev. Franklin Graham preach. Over 3,500 people responded to his message. In 2005 a new suite of buildings was erected to replace the original buildings at a cost of £1.3 million.
