[edit] Background

In Lethal Enforcers 3, players play as six different law enforcement roles in various scenarios in present day Tokyo, Japan. Players make their ways to checkpoints while shooting criminals, terrorists, or fugitives along the way.

Lethal Enforcers 3 is similar to World Combat which players shoot outside the screen to activate the shield. Unlike Warzaid, simply pointing outside the screen performs the same shield-activating mechanism as described herein. Raising the shield guard allows players to protect themselves from incoming bullets at the expense of not moving forward.

Unlike Lethal Enforcers and Lethal Enforcers II: Gunfighters, players must compete with other in making their way to checkpoints in various areas and capturing the wanted criminals allowing their ranks to be promoted. Also, players do not lose lives when they shoot innocent civilians but rather have their ranks demoted.

Much of the game's gameplay and mannerisms are reminiscient of Police 911, so much to the point where it could be considered a quasi-sequel.

[edit] Scenarios

Lethal Enforcers 3/Seigi no Hero allows the player to play the stages in the order they desire (with the exception of the Diet Building a.k.a. "Lethal Enforcers 3/Seigi no Hero" stage). There are 6 stages in all.

[edit] Cops in the City

Note: This stage is called "The Keisatsukan: Mass line of duty during noon" in Japan

As the police chase down Chinese burglars, it has been determined that Man Tak Wah has snatched a motorcycle, drove all the way to the shopping mall leading right through the parking garage. The police continuously arrests all accomplices and eventually to the parking garage where the showdown between the Metropolitan Police Department and Man Tak Wah takes place.

[edit] Coast Intruders

Note: This stage is called "A desperate act to stop a rogue boat by the Maritime Safety Agency" in Japan

Requiring all ships to be inspected by the Maritime Safety Agency, its Special Security Team is suddenly alerted regarding about a rogue yacht carrying narcotics and its drug dealers from the infamous Hong Kong mafia Ryuuto. With the boat occupants not cooperating, the Coast Guard and its Special Security Team initiated a forced entry onto the boat. Stopping the boat and following the inspection, it has been determined that the drug dealers evacuated the boat to resist arrest. As the Special Security Team corners Akihito Kawanishi, the Ryuuto collaborator and elusive drug dealer attacks the Coast Guard with a bulldozer as a last ditch effort to resist arrest.

[edit] Rival Heat

Note: This stage is called "Rival Detectives" in Japan

  • Player character: "Masa" and "Yoshi", two rival Japanese detectives

The Gokudo-Kai accomplices gets arrested throughout the station entrance, through the trains, and finally through the underground train tracks before Masaru Yoshioka attempts to defend himself splitting his body in three, utilizing a bazooka, and equipped with night vision to make the detectives' sight harder.

[edit] Airport 2004

As Japanese riot control troops attempt to target Tetsuya Nakamura, a bomb detonates disposing four disadvantaged riot officers and its squad leader orders two SIT riot troops to assist other riot troops. Throughout the airport's concourse and leading to the scene of the crime, four additional riot troops are taken down by Tetsuya Nakamura's molotov cocktail. Fortunately, the SIT riot troops were tough enough to apprehend the Bakudankakumeirengou and remove the diplomacy disruptance in spite of having to dispose the gang at long range.

[edit] Justice and Judgment

Note: This stage is called "Lethal Enforcers 3" in Japan

Terrorists with a single motive to explode the nuclear plant have captured the facility in an effort to contaminate Japan. Due to the lack of security clearance required to enter a nuclear plant, the JSDF's special security unit, the Eighth Imperial Kanto Regiment's Fourth Platoon, are asked to pursue the terrorists. As the building gets secured by JGSDF soldiers, the terrorists and Kifaf Nadhir attempt to escape by helicopter knowing that exploding the plant has been deterred by its security staff before ultimately getting arrested.

[edit] Lethal Enforcers 3

Note: This stage is called "Seigi no Hero" in Japan

In 2005-01-11 a rogue platoon from Japan's Eighth Imperial Kanto Army of the Rikujou Jieitai (in which players represented its fourth platoon police/special safety unit in the nuclear plant) broke into the National Diet Building unlawfully in an act of dissatisfaction against the Japanese government. As a part of their coup d'etat, this rogue Kanto platoon are demanding the prime minister to enact 12 provisions into the Japanese constitution within a certain amount of time. As the situation started to get worse (with violence erupting outside the building), two SAT operatives are ordered to assist the entire SIT riot control army to deter the rogue JSDF soldiers. Surpassing the violence erupting outside, the SAT operatives broke inside the building to arrest rogue JGSDF soldiers occupied inside the building. As the SAT operatives arrest the rogue soldiers, a tank provocates the operatives. As other SAT operatives secure the prime minister inside the building, the players encounter Yoshiki Tokita who's utilizing a tank to defend himself. Even with the tank destroyed, Tokita barely escapes the destroyed tank and attempts to deter the SAT operatives wielding dual katanas before he is finally arrested for violating Japan's Article 9.

[edit] Cultural References

  • All Japanese hostiles are named after either famous Japanese people or people who worked for the game's developing firm, Polygon Magic.
  • The game is spoken entirely in Japanese throughout gameplay (i.e. when players lose a life, the announcer will say "Player junshoku" (殉職) or "Player died on duty")—this was the case in The Keisatsukan and The Keisatsukan 2. The reason is to simulate the players' experience working as a Japanese authority.
  • The JGSDF soldiers the player play as in Justice and Judgment and the enemies in the Diet Building are not related to each other although they are from the same regiment (The Eighth Kanto Imperial Regiment), as the enemies in the Diet Building are from a rogue platoon choosing to violate Japan's Article 9, while the Fourth Platoon is a special platoon who doubles as Tokyo's Military Police unit, a reason why players don't see the JGSDF soldiers during the end credits.
