Letňany

Letňany was founded in 1307, and became part of Prague in 1968. Now it is part of the Prague 9 administrative district, form local government district of Prague 18 and its own cadastral area. The district has become one of the richest districts of Prague.
There is a large shopping mall, "Obchodní centrum Letňany", with shopping area exceeding 125 000 m2[1].
Letňany was site of the aircraft industry (Avia and Letov), but the industry gradually declined and Letňany became a mostly residential district. There are two airports - non public international Letňany airport and Kbely military airport.
Nearby Prague Metro station Letňany on the new extension of Line C was opened in May 2008.
