Let's Be Friends is Suburban Legends' upcoming fourth album. It began recording in April 2008 at Zion Studios, the recording studio of producer Dallas Kruse. Dallas has been periodically uploading videos of the album's progress onto his YouTube account. Some members of the band have been sharing information about the album, notably announcing that the band will be bringing back some of the ska sound it had left in 2006 with its EP, Dance Like Nobody's Watching. The album will be released in the summer, when the band goes on the Shout It Loud Tour 2 with Less Than Jake, Goldfinger, and Big D and the Kids Table.

During the band's performance at The Bamboozle Left, Vince Walker announced the band's new album in the summer, saying, "We're going back to our roots!"

In a thread on the band's forum, Luis Beza, the band's trumpeter, confirmed the information that other members had told fans

hey everyone its been awhile and i can see the word is out now! WE ARE PUTTING OUT A NEW ALBUM ! the jams are super hot, , , , , We got a bunch of songs we are working on and they are all coming along great! the whole vibe of this new album is just straight up fun. . .. . thanks to everyone that came out to bamboozle and rocked out. Cant wait to see you all this summer p.s. *** is coming back :D Luis

Posters in the thread speculated that the "***" Luis made reference to either meant "ska" or "Tim", though as other members of the band have already acknowledged the band's return to ska, it is unknown what Luis implied as he did not post in the thread again.

On May 5, 2008, the band officially announced the album's title in a YouTube video in which the band members are only seen as images on their iPhones. Another video, released on May 28, 2008, showed the band taking the album photos, with Vincent Walker as a rapper, Brian Robertson as a robot, Luis Beza as a mariachi musician, Mike Hachey as a cowboy, Derek Lee Rock as a disco dancer, and Brian Klemm as a 1980s metal musician.
