[edit] License tagging for Image:CHollandBook.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:CHollandBook.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 10:05, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I've been trying to follow all the necessary steps but I'm afraid it's just beyond me. So far as I can see from your guidelines, a low-resolution image of a book cover, in an article which mentions that book and quotes from it, could be legitimate. For all I'd like it to be otherwise, I find Wikipedia's "how to" pages unfathomable. Sorry. Les woodland (talk)les woodland

[edit] Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button Image:Wikisigbutton.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 13:53, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Thank you Mr SineBot. This is all very new for a man whose technical understanding came to a halt with the invention of the wheelbarrow. Doubtless I shall get the hang of it in the end. I've already realised that nothing happens unless you plug it in at the wall. Les woodland (talk) 16:33, 9 December 2007 (UTC)les woodland

[edit] Viroqua, Wisconsin& wrong way concurrency

Hi! Please look at the talk page for the article about Viroqua, Wisconsin concerning wrong-way concurrency. I have an answer to your question. Thank you-RFD (talk) 18:45, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Cycling stuff

Hi, Paul. Do you spend your day trawling for cycling pieces that may have changed? I'm intrigued how it works because I find your name so often on bits that I've worked on. How's it done? happy days, les -- Les woodland (talk) 17:13, 16 November 2007 (UTC)les woodland

I started quite a few cycling stubs that you have since edited. They are in my watchlist so when they get updated, I like to see what has been added. Paul W (talk) 01:34, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Alternate names

Hi. I think many of your edits are great. However, just be careful when changing the spellings of names as your recent edit to Paris-Roubaix broke some links, specifically Emile Daems and Servais Knaven. If you notice a spelling is wrong, move and change the biography article as it's most important to get the biography right first. You can always drop me a note to say a name is widely spelt incorrectly and I can change all the links using WP:AWB. This way we can get it right across the whole of the encyclopaedia. If you have any queries please just leave a note at my talk page. Regards, SeveroTC 22:27, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Contact With Writer

Hi, I do not know whether you were the one that wanted to contact the writer of the article HMS Ledbury (L90); I assume it is you, since your signiture appears after both messages I've found. I'm sorry I have not contacted you before, it so happens that I've moved home over Christmas and it's taken some time for me to settle down and get my act back together. Well, if you want to talk I guess you could contact me on my talk page, whenever you want to. Reuv (talk) 19:09, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Spelling

Heads up on spelling. If the rest of the article uses tire instead of tyre, as is the case with bicycle, so should your edits, most likely. For more information, see American and British English differences. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus. -AndrewDressel (talk) 01:39, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Track cycling worlds

Obviously the UCI didn't organise the track worlds before 1900 as your edits show, but do you know who did? I find this information hard to come across but you usually seem to have these answers :) SeveroTC 18:36, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Col du Tourmalet

Les, in your edit to Col du Tourmalet, you wrote that it is always classified as hors categorie. Yet this contradicts the table, which shows that before 1980 it was classified as categorie 1. Do you know if the classification system changed or if the rating changed? RosinDebow (talk) 20:37, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Benny Hill

I'm impressed how many spare words you manage to strip out! Pseudomonas(talk) 16:21, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Image Copyright problem

Hi Les woodland!

[edit] Edit summaries

Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary, which wasn't included with your recent edit to Tommy Cooper. Thank you. I notice you're removing quite a bit of text, but not giving a reason. Am assuming all is ok becaue the bots aren't reverting your edits. Leaving an edit summary helps other editors to understand what has been done, and why. Mjroots (talk) 15:02, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] American / British spelling

Hey. Just in relation to your recent edit on French Riviera, you may like to have a look at WP:ENGVAR. Convention is that for non-English speaking countries, whether American or British English is used depends on whichever it was first written in. The Riviera was first written by an American I think, and thus it should be in American English. I haven't reverted obviously, since you made a hell of a lot of spelling and grammar fixes, along with the language changes, but I'd ask you when you have the time to look at changing it back. Thanks! --Schcamboaon scéal? 18:22, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
