Male citizen of the U.S.A., born 07/19/1961 in Winchester, Massachusetts. Grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. Currently residing in Arlington, Massachusetts. Attended college three times: College of Wooster (1979-83; B.A. in Theatre and English); Indiana University Bloomington (1983-87; M.F.A., Theatrical acting); University of California at Santa Barbara (1988-92, Ph.D., Dramatic Art), to no good or lasting effect.
Amateur astronomer, telescope maker and poet. Generally exhilarated despair-er.
I am a full (voting) member of the Springfield Telescope Makers (Vermont), who meet and more at Stellafane ... though (ironically?) I like the night sky because I get to lift my eyes to a space, a plenum where no people are seen.
I have also been a member of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada for several years.
I am enjoying the process of becoming a good and contributing Wikipedian, if only because I have been a voracious reader all my life & my skull therefore has always been a bit of a junkshop. Because of writer's block and other blocks the past few years, outlets for this lump of stuff have been scarce, and so it's nice to find a place where this brain can be something like an advantage.
The "handle" lesonyrra is a reference to the jazz musician Sun Ra, born Herman Blount, who legally changed his name to Le Sony'r Ra.
