[edit] Command history

The USMC bio is terse on Brown's command history. Here is some information that I've found from other sources. I'd like to be able to put together a chronology of command. I see that he's commanded 1st MAW and 3rd MAW, but, I'm not clear on the years.

  • In 1971, as a brigadier general, he was CG of 3rd MAW. See Quilter, Colonel Charles J. Quilter II, USMCR (Ret) and Captain John C. Chapin, USMCR (Ret) (2001). A History of Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 531 p. 56-57. History and Museum Division, Headquarters Marine Corps, United States Marine Corps. Retrieved on 2007-02-27.
  • As a major general, he was CG of 1st MAW. See citation in article.
