Lesley Pike is a Canadian musician, singer and songwriter.
She is known for the emotional sound of her ballads, some of her most popular songs include "How I Wonder", "Mystery Man", "Dreaming Back to Life" and "Rather Be". Although regularly traveling to support her music, she currently resides in Toronto, Ontario.
[edit] Biography
Lesley was born and raised in Wingham, Ontario, and later earned an honours bachelor degree in Classical Music from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario.
She independently released her first full length album, Night Visions, and supported it with constant touring. She garnered air-time on several southern Ontario radio stations as well as national exposure from CBC radio. During this period she shared the stage with several notable Canadian acts, including Pilot Speed, Turn Off the Stars and Stabilo.
Although the lyrics and atmosphere of the album seemed overwhelmingly dark, Pike has said that is not a true representation of who she is. "“On “Night Visions”, I basically wrote exactly what I felt without thinking twice about what people would take from it or the impressions they may form. And I really like that in a way, because it’s completely honest and raw, but I didn’t anticipate the flip side of it – that people might think I’m really quite depressed! I remember a neighbour leaving a note in my mailbox after he listened to the record that said something to the effect of 'it’s really beautiful…and I hope that you are okay’".http://www.lesleypike.com/html_bio.php
In 2005 Pike released her follow up, "Dreaming Back to Life" which received play from an even wider variety of radio stations and exposed her to many new fans, and received many overwhelmingly positive reviews. http://www.lesleypike.com/html_press.php.
