Les Afriques is a weekly economical and financial African newspaper. In 2007, it claims to be the first panafrican[1] financial newspaper. Published every week and available in almost all french-speaking countries.

The newspaper started its publication in July 2007. Its launch was announced on at a french speaking TV journal de Léman bleu[2] and on several specialised african website[3].

After a first journal and a necessary period of adaptation using for instance a franchise system[4], the journal Les Afriques could launch an edition for Morocco, a Senegal edition and one for Cameroon[5].

In order to balance the views of the "old continent", the journalist are based in Africa (namely Morocco, Senegal and Algeria) and are highly respected in the African financial community.

[edit] Adama Wade, Morocco

Adama Wade, a Mauritanian national, established in Casablanca for at least 13 years. He has flourished as a journalist in the Economical and Financial sections in the Moroccan press.

[edit] Ihsane El Kadi, Algeria

Ihsane El kadi writes for the weekly economical supplement of El Watan, the most important francophone paper of Algeria.

He was a special advisor to the communication for president Abdoulaye Wade 2000-2002 and he has created or managed several media entities in his country.

A first trial journal was first published in June 2007 and in September 2007, "Les Afriques" became a weekly paper.

An English version will be release in 2008.

The website of Les Afriques will be partially translated and should be fully translated in the near future. (April 2008)[6]
