Leroy Satrom

Leroy Satrom (b. February 4, 1919, d. September 8, 2004) was a former mayor of Kent, Ohio.

Satrom is best remembered for declaring a State of Emergency on May 2nd 1970, calling Governor Rhodes and requesting that the National Guard be sent to the campus of Kent State University to deal with student protests.

Ultimately the Guardsmen shot into the crowd, killing four students.
