Lerø is an uncommon, Norwegian last name. Although not verified, it has its origin from the island of Lerø outside of Bergen. Another theory is that the name comes from the obscure Celtic god with the name of Lero.
Lerø is also the name of a boat registered in the Norwegian ship directory. This vessel is, or has been used, for the purpose of fishing. It was built in 1919.
