Talk:Leon Payne

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I use to work for Jack Rhodes. He told me that he and Leon were half brothers. They had the same mother. Jack wrote several hits himself. Satisfied mind, silver threads and golden needles, and many more. Jack told the the year Leon died he had ten of his songs recorded by big artist.

[edit] Legend

There's a story going around about Leon Payne's song "Psycho" This is from an article on CMT.com:

"In San Antonio, news of the tower shootings greatly affected Leon Payne. He was a blind songwriter and singer who had written the great country standards "Lost Highway" and "They'll Never Take Her Love From Me," recorded by Hank Williams. Payne's "Psycho" is unlike anything else he wrote and indeed is very much unlike most other country songs ever written. It's been recorded a few times, most effectively by Elvis Costello"

Well, it seems like it may be that the shootings did inspire him to write a song, but a different song! "Selfishness in Man?" "Psycho" was inspired by the movie, as described to him by his daughter(s)? If anyone could get quotes or documentation of this, it would help the article greatly. Cuvtixo 15:47, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
