Leontopodium is a genus of plants in the daisy family, which includes edelweiss (Leontopodium alpinum[2][3]), a well-known plant from the mountains of Europe. The term edelweiss can, more rarely, refer to other members of the genus.[4] The genus contains about 30 species, native to Europe and Asia (and perhaps the Americas).[5][6]
