Leonard Hamilton (born 4 August 1948, in Gaston County, North Carolina) is the head basketball coach at Florida State University. He is a former coach at Oklahoma State University and the University of Miami. He also coached the NBA's Washington Wizards for one season. His all-time record is 265-268, while appearing in 6 NITs and 3 NCAA tournaments. He has also been to the Sweet 16. While with the Wizards he went 19-63.

Hamilton played college ball at the University of Tennessee-Martin. Hamilton was an assistant coach and associate head coach at the University of Kentucky from 1974 - 1986 under then Head coach Joe B. Hall. Hamilton is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Though well-known as an avid recruiter, Hamilton's coaching style has come into question due to his sub-.500 record as a head coach. Looking back on Hamilton signing the #1 recruiting class in 2003, Sport Illustrated's Luke Winn remarked, "Congrats go out to Leonard Hamilton for pulling off an incredible feat. He managed to parlay a No. 1 recruiting class ... into zero trips to the NCAA tournament." [1]
