Leonard Blush was based on an actual person by the name of Leonard Anthony Blush musician and was mentioned on The Andy Griffith Show. Blush had a radio show that was enjoyed by Barney Fife and Sheriff Andy Taylor. In reality, Leonard Anthony Blush performed charity shows for hospital bound servicemen and their families in the 1950s and 1960s.
