From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Leoluca (c. 815 – c. 915), abbot, is venerated as a saint in the Roman Catholic Church.
He was born in the Sicilian town of Corleone and died about a hundred years later in Monteleone Calabro, now Vibo Valentia in Calabria. Today he is patron of both towns. In Vibo Valentia his feast is celebrated on 1 March when the local fire brigade pay him homage by placing a crown of flowers at the feet of his statue which is located high on the façade of the Duomo, using a turntable ladder to perform the act.
