Leonardo “Leo” du Pres is a fictional character from the American daytime drama All My Children. The role was portrayed and originated by actor Josh Duhamel, from 1999 to 2002. The character died after plunging into the raging waterfall Miller's Falls (though the body was never found).
Duhamel won a Daytime Emmy for Best Supporting Actor in 2002 for the role. His portrayal of the character, and the impact it had on viewers, was cited in a TV Guide interview as causing mania, an extension being Leo's death, as viewers could not grasp such a fate for their beloved con artist.[1]

Leo comes to town in 1999, planning to meet his mother Vanessa's new husband, Palmer Cortlandt. Leo never knew his own father. Palmer later hires Leo at his business, Cortlandt Electronics. Leo, however, finds working for a living tedious and quits his job at Cortlandt. He moves on with young schemer Greenlee Smythe. During this time, he also becomes close to a teenage Bianca Montgomery, even taking her to her high school prom. Their friendship continues to grow and Bianca later "comes out" to Leo, after he catches her leaving a gay bar.
Leo and Greenlee become engaged, but Greenlee's father manages to break the two up. Later, Brooke English comes calling. She begs Leo to become romantically intertwined with her dying daughter, Laura, so that Laura will have someone and something to live for. Leo accepts and he and Laura quickly marry. Incredibly, Laura receives a timely heart transplant from Leo's friend, Gillian Andrassy, and Laura manages to recover. Leo never really loved Laura, however. He eventually breaks off his relationship with Laura, to reunite with his one true love — Greenlee. Laura cannot accept this, and loses her mind, eventually leaving Pine Valley for treatment.
In 2002, Vanessa kidnaps Greenlee, but Greenlee is able to get away, and Leo and Greenlee eventually marry later that year. Some time afterward, Vanessa kidnaps Greenlee again and takes her to Miller's Falls. Vanessa ends up letting go of Greenlee, but when Leo realizes she is going to shoot Greenlee in the back, he leaps onto Vanessa, and the two plunge into the water. His body is never recovered.
