Leo Stans is an American wildlife artist. Born and raised in Chaska, Minnesota. Degree in Forestry. Attended prestigious Minnesota School of Art. Known for his realistic paintings of nature. A conservationist, and outdoorsman. Stans is known for his attention to details, researching and photographing his subjects and their natural habitats, before he begins his paintings. Honored in 1990 by the National Park Service, who used his paintings to issue a line of collector stamps. His National Park Series is his most published work. Stans also is known for his series of paintings depicting golf courses. He is collected worldwide and has been honored with many one man showing. Considered to be one of America's best wildlife artists.
