Leninsk, Volgograd Oblast

Leninsk (Russian: Ле́нинск) is a town in Volgograd Oblast, Russia. It is located on the left bank of the Akhtuba River 78 km east of Volgograd at 48°43′N, 45°12′E. Population: 14,866 (2002 Census); 13,110 (1989 Census).

Founded in 1802 as the village of Prishibinskoye (Пришибинское); later renamed to Prishib (Пришиб). The village was renamed Leninsk in 1919 and granted town status in 1963.
