Lene Hall (born Sherrylene Hall) was born and raised on the island of Barbados. Modeling was always a part of her life having modeled throughout her high school career. So when an agent approached Sherry at her work place in Barbados and encouraged her to come to New York and to try her hand at modeling on the international stage she took the chance to try it for a few weeks and see if modeling was truly her future
Here is where her story is unlike that of most models and is a remarkable statement about the fashion industry’s love affair with this island beauty they have nicknamed ‘Lene,’ not only because it is the last part of her name, but because of her tall slender frame. On her first interview with an agency she was signed on the spot and sent directly for her first casting at “Prescriptive by Esteé Lauder.” Amazingly Sherrylene landed the job immediately and became the face of Prescriptive for the next year.
From there success has followed her at every turn. Sherry has worked for some of fashion’s biggest names both in the US and Europe. She has graced the catwalk for the likes of Ralph Lauren, Elen Tracey, B Michaels, and all the big names as well as being a favorite in Europe for Couture season.
Sherry has been photographed for magazines like Harpers Bazaar, Spanish Vogue, ELLE, Oprah, Marie Claire, Essence and graces the cover of several international magazines as well as the highly acclaimed beauty bible by Sam Fine entitled Fine Beauty.
American Photo magazine named Sherry one of the top 10 up and coming models and she has not disappointed. In addition to Esteé Lauder, Sherry has done many national campaigns for Noxzema, Lubriderm, Kohler and Vaniqua. She has worked with the most influential photographers in the industry including the amazing Herb Ritts and has been the face for Revlon, Lafayette 148, and Oil of Olay.
Sherry stands out not only because of her striking looks, flawless skin and her 5’11” slender frame, but also because of her ability to deliver exactly what the designer intends with their work. She has become a favorite of several designers who call on her often for their exclusive in-house showings as well as their runway presentations.
With a strong sense of community, Sherry gives freely of her time to charities to help in their cause to raise funds. In addition to returning home each year to model for several charitable events, Sherry has also given her time for charities in Jamaica and Africa. She was also one of the key models who took part in the NY fashion industry’s charity event for the victims of September 11. Her philosophy being that she has received so much that one should pass it on to those who have not had the opportunities she has been afforded in life.
She is currently under contract with Major Model Management.
