Lena Kolarska-Bobińska

'Prof. Lena Kolarska-Bobińska is graduate of the Sociology Department, Warsaw University as well as post-doctoral fellow at Stanford University and Business School of Carnegie Mellon University. From 1991 to 1997 she was director of CBOS, Poland's largest public opinion research center, since 1997 she is director of the Institute of Public Affairs, Poland, an independent, non-partisan public policy think tank.

Prof. Lena Kolarska-Bobińska, author of over 150 publications, books and articles, is lecturer at universities in Poland and abroad. Frequently she comments on political and social developments for Polish and international media, for the French journal "Les Echos" she is a regular columnist.

Professor Kolarska-Bobińska is member of many Polish and international associations and advisory boards. She was member of the Economic Council of President Lech Wałęsa (1992 - 1995), adviser of the Chief Negotiator for Poland's Accession to the EU (1998 - 2001) and member of President Aleksander Kwaśniewskis Reflection Group (2001 - 2005).
