Leila Shahid

Leila Shahid (born in Beirut in 1949) is, since November 2005, is the envoy of the Palestinian Authority (PA) to the European Commission in Brussels. Before that, she was the official representative of the Palestine Liberation Organization, then the PA in France where she had taken office in Paris in 1994.
She is the daughter of Serene Husseini Shahid and thereby related to the al-Husayni clan.
She made frequent appearances in the French and Belgian media to promote the Palestinian point of view.
