Leif Tronstad

Leif Tronstad (27 March 1903 - 11 March 1945) was a norwegian scientist, intelligence officer and military organiser. He is best known for his role as a planner in the Norwegian heavy water sabotage, but he is also connected with acquiring important information about the V-2 rocket which led to massive allied bombing of Peenemünde. Tronstad was killed in while clandestine operating in occupied Norway.

Tronstad received the Norwegian War Cross with sword, the British Order of the British Empire and Distinguished Service Order, the French Légion d'honneur and Croix de guerre and the US Presidential Medal of Freedom.
