Talk:Lehmber Hussainpuri
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Great - Yes Unique - Yes "one of the greatest Punjabi singers of all time" - No. He's not in the same league as Gurdas Mann or some of the older singers like Kuldip Manak.
This article has POV problems. For example:
- His style, his voice, and his demeanor capture and engross all who experience him.
- This album was a massive success...
- Nevertheless, everyone still awaited an official solo release from this newly crowned king of Bhangra.
- His greatly anticipated debut album...
- Lehmber has also been acclaimed one of the best live performers in Bhangra today, and is one of the most demanded bhangra singers of the time.
It reads like hype generated by a publicist. It's not encyclopedic. It's also completely unsourced. UncleFester 20:38, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

- Actually, the "sources" are commercial pages, from which copy for this article was clearly lifted. That is a copyright no-no. UncleFester 21:59, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Incorrect Spelling of his Name
The correct way to spell his name is as follows, Lembher Hussainpuri. Not Lehmber. For proof of this, please see his offical website www.lembher.com. There you will see it spelled as Lembher Hussainpuri. Also on Google you do a search, you get much more results for that spelling rather than the other one.
So could some please change the spelling of the article and re-direct it to the new artical. Thank you. Sonu27 19:24, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Confusion about spelling of name
Actually, since his name, like all other traditional Punjabi names, was translated from Gurmukhi, there is a bit of ambiguity as to how it is properly transliterated. However, the above claim that Lehmber's "official" website spells it "Lembher" is invalid. This website claims to be official, yet it is anything but. The "biography" section was clearly lifted straight off the wikipedia article on Lehmber. In essence, Lehmber's "official" website plagiarized this wikipedia article. How do I know it wasn't the other way around? Because I personally wrote most of the wikipedia article, and can tell you firsthand that the wikipedia article is completely original. www.Lembher.com has no credibility, and cannot be accepted as the "official" website. Thus, this article will continue to be titled "Lehmber Hussainpuri".
i completely agree with the person who wrote article about LEHMBER HUSSAINPURI - that LEHMBER HUSSAINPURI is the correct spelling of his name not Lembher. besides lembher doesnt look right- it doesnt go along how it is pronnunced. so "Lehmber" is the correct name,

[edit] LEMBHER HUSSAINPURI
If that's the case then why have you put Lembher down as Chamar on your website?????!!! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.8.141.129 (talk) 10:56, 3 March 2007 (UTC).
