Lehigh Township is a township in Wayne County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,639 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 12.9 square miles (33.4 km²), of which, 12.3 square miles (31.8 km²) of it is land and 0.6 square miles (1.7 km²) of it (4.96%) is water.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 1,639 people, 635 households, and 448 families residing in the township. The population density was 133.6 people per square mile (51.6/km²). There were 2,454 housing units at an average density of 200.0/sq mi (77.2/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 94.26% White, 3.17% African American, 0.06% Native American, 0.49% Asian, 1.28% from other races, and 0.73% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.51% of the population.
There were 635 households out of which 35.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.7% were married couples living together, 7.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.3% were non-families. 23.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.58 and the average family size was 3.05.
In the township the population was spread out with 26.7% under the age of 18, 6.0% from 18 to 24, 27.8% from 25 to 44, 23.1% from 45 to 64, and 16.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 103.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.0 males.
The median income for a household in the township was $35,302, and the median income for a family was $41,071. Males had a median income of $33,750 versus $22,219 for females. The per capita income for the township was $15,910. About 6.7% of families and 10.7% of the population were below the poverty line, including 11.7% of those under age 18 and 16.3% of those age 65 or over.
