I am a heavy listener of music, mostly metal, hard rock, punk, and nu metal. I play electric guitar - when I'm not sleeping. I play basketball and enjoy watching football (American).

As I said, I'm a huge music enthusiast. Music has been my whole life. In fact, my brother is in a metal band in the Eau Claire, Wisconsin area called Silenize. He's always been an influence on me. For the past four or five years, I've been writing lyrics which cross many different genres and ranges of skill. Most of the lyrics I write are aggressive and dark, sometimes poetic, as in the style of AFI or Avenged Sevenfold. Others are straight and heavy, relating more closely to a heavier Trapt.
When I began writing lyrics, I wrote a style of rap/rock that was probably pretty close to Linkin Park's early work, such as on Hybrid Theory, but since then I've completely disowned those songs because they were really bad. They were cheesy. I've evolved into a much better lyricist, using better rhymes or none at all, if necessary. I've learned that a rhyme is not required and that content is more important. I no longer throw out a good line just because it doesn't fit the rhyme scheme. My writing is... unorthodox sometimes because of that, but as long as it comes out the way I want it, I can accept it.
Now, here's where I tell you that's about as far as I've been able to delve into the musical arts. I can write lyrics and get catchy guitar riffs in my head, but when it comes to playing an instrument, you might as well shoot me in the face. That would be better music than what would come from those guitar strings. I could play the whistle, but it doesn't fit too well in a metal band.

Silenize is a metal band from Eau Claire, Wisconsin. It became active in 2007, playing in multiple concerts in the Eau Claire region with bands such as Critical Bill, No Loving Place, and Suidice.
