Legnaro is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Padua in the Italian region Veneto, located about 30 km southwest of Venice and about 11 km southeast of Padua. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 7,703 and an area of 14.9 km².[1]
The municipality of Legnaro contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Casone and Volparo.
Legnaro borders the following municipalities: Brugine, Padua, Polverara, Ponte San Nicolò, Sant'Angelo di Piove di Sacco, Saonara.
A Laboratory of the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare is located near Legnaro.
