The Legislative Council of the Turks and Caicos Islands has 21 members, 15 members elected for a four year term in single-seat constituencies, 3 members ex officio, 3 appointed members and a Speaker chosen from outside the council. Note the name of the council was changed to the house of assembly following the implementation of the new constitution.
