[edit] Plot
Bruno Bolet was the owner of the "Whisperer," a crystal skull rumored to protect its holder from almost any cause of death - except murder. When Bruno died, his nephew Henry came to wrap up his affairs, but he couldn't find the skull among the clutter of the manor. The player, as Nancy Drew and her best friend Bess Marvin on occasions, must find the skull and solve the mystery of Bruno's murder.
[edit] Gameplay
In this installment of the Nancy Drew PC series you can assume the role of Bess to help Nancy solve the mystery. The game is 3-D and mostly point-and-click.
The player can question suspects face-to-face or by the phone, solve puzzles crucial to the game, and explore locations such as a curio shop and mansion.
[edit] Characters
Bess Marvin
One of Nancy's best friends, fun-loving Bess has always been helping Nancy solve mysteries. However, Bess's intentions for the trip were to relax in the sun -- instead, she is working with Nancy.
Henry Bolet Jr.
Sarcastic Henry has lived with his great-uncle since the death of his parents when he was young. He's in New Orleans to help clean up his great-uncle's affairs.
Lamont Warrick
Lamont owns Zeke's, a curio shop, and loves his job.
Renée Amande
Bruno Bolet's housekeeper, hoodoo practicing Renée Amande prefers to spend her time in the garden. She believes in spells and wears a special necklace to ward off evil.
Gilbert Buford
Bruno Bolet's old best friend and a doctor, Gilbert was the one to find Bruno's body.
Professor Hotchkiss
Also a suspect from Treasure in the Royal Tower, it seems the "nutty professor" published a lot more than "Lost Diary of Marie Antoinette" since the end of the 4th Nancy Drew game.

- Letting too many wasps sting you when you want the loquat fruit
- Bumping the log after you get the mushroom
- Going out the emergency door
- Stepping on log twice
