[edit] The Games

Most of the games on the Legacy Games portal are considered casual games. Games are sorted by category, including Puzzle, Action, Adventure, Time Management, Strategy, Card, Mahjong, Word, Family, Sim, Brainy, and Holiday.

The most popular of these tend to be Sims, which include games like Pet Pals: Animal Doctor and Virtual Villagers: The Lost Children. These games are supposed to simulate certain situations or experiences for players, much like the classic Sim City or The Sims.

Also popular are the Time Management Games, like the Diner Dash series, which require players to complete multiple tasks in a limited period of time. Many of these games involve waitressing, nursing, or other services. A good example of this type of game is The Apprentice Los Angeles, where you actually play four types of service games in different settings - Sushi Bar, clothing boutique, beach rental shop, and hotel celebrity ball.

Family games include board games, like Yahtzee, and children's titles, like Dora the Explorer. Brainy games include educational and trivia titles like Trivial Pursuit, as well as games that require thinking or problem solving skills, such as Hexcite.

Adventure games include mysteries, like Law & Order: Criminal Intent, or the Nancy Drew series. Action games typically include Match 3 and shooter titles, while puzzle games include the hidden object games, like The Mystery Case Files series.

In the Legacy Games portal, there is a search function on the top right hand side, where users may look for specific games by title or category.

[edit] Reviews

Each game's page includes a "rate this game" and "review this game" section. Here, users may rate games, and post reviews of the games they have played. Reviews may be submitted by anyone, but users must be logged in before posting.

[edit] Playlists

Another feature of this website is the ability to create and share playlists with other users. This allows users to browse lists of games recommended by other players, and to find titles similar to games they previously enjoyed.

[edit] Blogs

There are more in-depth reviews in the form of game blogs, written by both staff members and the general public. Here, individuals may also comment and start conversations about specific game titles, or post questions. Blog submissions can be sent in by anyone, but require approval before being posted.

[edit] Daily Updates

New games are added to the system on a regular basis, and can be found in the "What's New" section of the website. Here, new reviews and playlists are also displayed.

[edit] Contests

Legacy Interactive hosts a weekly contest, where users are asked to answer three trivia questions about games in the portal. The answers can often be found in game reviews and in the blog section. One winner is selected each week, winning a free game courtesy of Legacy.
