The current national secretary is Sergio Ferrero, who succeded to Giuseppe Henriet and Paolo Linty.
In the 2008 regional election the party externally supported the centre-left regionalist coalition composed of Valdotanian Union, Edelweiss Aosta Valley and Autonomist Federation. The coalition won by a landslide.
[edit] Popular support
The party has suffered a dramatic loss of votes in the Region through the years ans is now a tiny political force compared to other "national" sections of Lega Nord. In the 2008 general election it won only 3.1% of the vote, due to the electoral strenght of other regionalist parties, notably Valdotanian Union, Edelweiss Aosta Valley and Autonomist Federation.
