[edit] Why not index character pages?

I'm curious as to the rationale for removing the listings for Legion of Super-Heroes characters from the index. I was informed that it was done in accordance with a consensus reached on the subject but I've been unable to locate any documentation of said consensus or the reasoning behind it, and it makes no sense to me for Legion characters to be excluded from the Legion index.

Please explain?

The long and the short of it? In general the "Member of Foo", "Supporting character of Foo", and "Opponent of Foo" cats were creating massive clutter in the category section of article and POV arguments about which article should get which tags. The general consensus that was reach out of the various CfDs was to use lists instead of cats for membership rosters, supporting cast lists, and opponent lists. This also allowed for annotation/citation for the inclusions.
That has stretch to cover cats like this one as per the comments in the latest CfD. Planets, fine; items, ok; story arcs, yup; comic book, if that's what the article is really about; teams, maybe; lists, definitely; characters, no.
And yes, that means the recent spate of characters added to the cat should be removed before the cat gets CfDed a 3rd time on the grounds it's consistently being used to circumvent consensus.
