What is up with the numbers on the list of books?? its like 1-10 and then 1-8 why wouldnt it be 1-40

I don't even know what I'm doing but if you are going to read these books please do NOT read this wikipedia page because it gives the whole story away.
note to wikipedia peoples--- please edit this left behind kids page so it doesn't give away the whole story!!!!!!!!!!
