Leckwith

Leckwith (Welsh: Lecwydd) is a district of Cardiff, South Wales, United Kingdom.

It is home to Cardiff City F.C.'s home ground Ninian Park and formerly to the Cardiff Athletics Stadium both of which are in the process of being replaced by new stadiums near to the current sites.

Leckwith derives from the personal name Helygwydd, implying (place of) Helygwydd. The identity of Helygwydd is not known, although it is believed he may be a Welsh warrior or saint.

Leckwith is home to Fitzalan High School.

Leckwith is directly accessed from the A4232 linking it to Culverhouse Cross, M4 J33 Cardiff West and Cardiff Bay. Cardiff Bus has its main depot in the area and operates services 12/13 eastbound to city centre and Tremorfa and westbound to Canton, Ely & Culverhouse Cross. The 1/2 Bay Circle route runs clockwise to Canton, Fairwater, Llandaff, Llandaff North, Gabalfa, Heath & Cathays and anticlockwise to Grangetown, Cardiff Bay, Central Stn, Splott, Tremorfa & Roath.

The area is served by Ninian Park railway station with services northbound to Radyr via Fairwater and southbound to Cardiff Central.
