The Lebanese Liberal Republican Party (or LRP) (Arabic "الحزب الجمهوري الحر اللبناني " Al-Hizb Al-Jumhury Al- Horr Al-Lubnany ) , Its current leader is Khaled Sleiman Alhassanieh. It is officially non-sectarian, but in practice is led and supported mostly by followers of the Druze faith.
A group of intelligentsia, students, representatives of the civil society and business community formed the Social-Liberal Initiative Group headed by Khaled Sleiman Alhassanieh . The Manifest released by the members of the initiative group on 12 June , 2007 highlighted the intention to found a party, namely Lebanese Liberal Republican Party, on the liberal niche of the political spectrum .
The Lebanese Liberal Republican Party (LRP) is a center-right political party, based on the social liberalism doctrine. The party expresses the political will and interests of the large categories of the Lebanese society, which militate for the authentic modernization of the country, for achieving the aspirations of liberty, democracy, social justice, solidarity, and welfare , open to modernization and social development, a firm promoter of democratic liberties and social-economic reforms .
Economic guide marks of our society model The society, we aspire for, supposes a really democratic political system, decentralized and efficient, with well consolidated structures, laws and institutions, with an authority high enough to be able to organize national development efforts. Our options are directed to a model of sustainable and well-balanced development, based on the state of law virtues, on the market economy dynamism and on social democracy, carrying out principles of social justice.
The flag consisting of a green Cedar which symbolize our roots in the Lebanese mountains while the blue color symbolize the Lebanese sky and sea while the red and white color is what our ancestors the Phoenicians used on their sails with the name written in yellow Goldish color .
