Leandro Rodrigues Da Silva (born on December 3, 1985) is a Brazilian footballer, also known as Leandro Love.

[edit] Club career

He currently plays as a striker for A-League club Melbourne Victory, having agreed to a 1 year loan deal from J-League club Vissel Kobe. He has recently been playing for Rio Branco in the Paulista state championships.

When talking about Leandro Love, Melbourne Victory coach Ernie Merrick is quoted saying “Leandro really fits the profile of the type of player we try to attract to Melbourne. He’s young and quick and technically very sound. He also likes to take defenders on and that’s what we like in our strikers,”

[edit] Melbourne Victory

On Wednesday, July 25, Leandro Love was revealed as the Melbourne Victory's fourth and final International player. He was purchased as a back-up striker for the dynamic duo of Archie Thompson and Danny Allsopp. When talking about being the back-up striker, Leandro Love said "I want to give my contribution to the whole team, so I'm going to be patient. "It's a matter of time until I get to show the way I play. I am going to do everything possible to help, and I'm not worried about that, I'm here to help the team." He will play as number 15 at Melbourne Victory. Love now has his own chant at Melbourne Victory games, whenever he comes onto the pitch or scores, the fans sing All You Need Is Love which was originally by the Beatles

Despite being a crowed favorite, Leandro has had a difficult time breaking into Victory's first team. Whilst Victory attempt to build momentum going into the Asian Champions League, reports have emerged suggesting that they are seeking yet another striker, making it difficult for Love to be around past his contract.

As he has not scored a single goal during his time in Australia, he can hardly be surprised to be released.
