Leanchoilia superlata (type) |
Leanchoilia is a fossil arachnomorph arthropod from the Cambrian period. It was 5cm long and was probably blind[verification needed], finding its way about with long, whip-like feelers mounted on frontal arm-like appendages.
Leancholia is found in the Burgess Shale in Canada, as well as other shale deposits in the area. [1]
Two[verification needed] species are tentatively accepted today: the type species L. superlata and the recently-revalidated L. persephone. They may however be examples of sexual dimorphism.
