Leanashe

The leanashe (pronounced as IPA: [ˌɫænəˈʃi:]) is an ancient Irish mythical monster, a female possession spirit or vampire. Variations of the word include Dearg-Du, ans Leansídhe.

On the ‘Isle of Man' she is a blood-sucking vampire and in Ireland the muse of poets. It is said that those inspired by her live brilliant, though short, lives.^{[citation needed]}
