The thirteenth book in the Stephanie Plum mystery series; which includes three novellas in addition to the thirteen chronologically titled novels. This book was released on June 19, 2007. (According to Amazon.Com.) Two months before it was published, the book made its way to NovelTracker's list of thrillers.

In this book Stephanie Plum is reunited with her ex-husband, Dickie Orr. Dickie disappears from his house apparently murdered, Stephanie becomes the prime suspect in his apparent murder. While trying to prove her innocence she and Ranger uncover Dickie's ties to his lawyer partners involved in everything from money laundering to drug running. Dickie's business partner believes that Stephanie holds the 'key' to the missing 40 million dollars missing from the law firm. Stephanie meets some interesting characters, from a taxidermist who is living at home waiting for the cable company with a penchant for bombs to a grave-robber who also does taxes in the back of his truck.
