[edit] Geography
The commune of Le Pecq is located in a loop of the Seine river, 19 km west of Paris, at the foot of the castle of Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
Its territory is distributed on two banks of the river and includes the small Corbière island. It is highly urbanized except for the Corbière island, which is partially protected as a nesting zone for migratory birds. Until after the Second World war, an establishment of baths functioned on this island. Two other establishments related to water were famous in Le Pecq: an SPA exploiting the many sources of the hill of St-Germain and a natural water swimming pool 100 m length with sand beaches.
It borders the communes of Saint-Germain-en-Laye and Mareil-Marly in the west, Montesson and Mesnil-le-Roi (Carrières-sous-Bois district) to the north, Croissy-sur-Seine and Le Vésinet in the east and Marly-le-Roi and Le Port-Marly to the south.
[edit] History
On May 31, 1875, a part of the territory of Le Pecq was detached and merged with a part of the territory of Chatou and a part of the territory of Croissy-sur-Seine to create the commune of Le Vésinet.
[edit] Economy
- Regional center of the Lyons water company which produces approximately 90 million cubic meters of drinking water per year, serving approximately 500 000 consumers in the west of Paris.

[edit] Monuments
- Saint-Wandrille church: the current church, with triangular pediment, was built by the architect Sebastien Jan since 1739 on the site of an old church.
- Saint-Thibault church: building out of concrete and wooden, built in 1964 by the architects Perrouin, Lunel and Jung, surmounted by an arrow in wood veil 30 height meters.
- Railway viaduct: work dating from the end of the XIXe century. Comprising a score of stone arches and prolonged by an iron bridge with the top of the Seine and by two tunnels, it is traced in curve and unevenness marked to allow the line whose terminus was initially in Le Pecq to reach the station of Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
[edit] Famous People
- Jacques Tati, born in Le Pecq on October 9, 1908, mime artist and actor

[edit] Transport
Transport is mainly by N13 and the secondary road D 186 connecting Saint-Germain-en-Laye with Paris, which crosses the Seine with the bridge of Le Pecq. This bridge built in 1963, is built of flattened arches out of steel resting on two central concrete piles.
Le Pecq is served by no station of the Paris Métro, RER, or suburban rail network. The closest station to Le Pecq is Le Vésinet – Le Pecq station on Paris RER line A. This station is located in the neighboring commune of Le Vésinet, 1.2 km. (0.7 miles) from the town center of Le Pecq.
